I have been in Greece for 3 days and Mykonos for 2. I know, I know.
Mykonos. I didn't think I'd be back EVER, especially so soon, but I'm actually having a ton of fun because Germany is sooo beach deprived, and also Greece is the best country in the world and it's great to be here no matter how touristy and packed with fucked up Australians the part you're
in is.
Mykonos is bustling for an island and that's not necessarily a bad thing. For one thing, they have a cute, little sephora where the lotions are mostly behind the counter but you can ind some on the outskirts for those lines that are appearing on your forehead after over exposure to the Mediterranean sun. Also you can rub on some blush and bronzed with your fingers to sculpt cheekbones because you left yours at home to save on space.
There's also a Louis Vuitton with a body guard, so, can't say that about Paros!!
I looked in Santorini and Athens last year for these bracelets I got in Mykonos because I wanted more. I've only seen them in Mykonos so I'll call them "Mykonos bracelets." I love them so much. Last year I got ones in black and light pink because I was into light pink and now I'm into mint so I got one in mint! If you go to Mykonos every year you can can keep up with your ever-changing tastes, psycho.
Just as I was in Santorini for the major riots last year I am in Santorini for the elections this year! Meaning I'm arriving back in Athens the day after the elections. Hopefully by that time Syriza will be making good on exiting the euro.
My friend, Jonny, didn't know it was good to leave the euro until he talked with Steve, his host in Athens. A lot of people in North America, and I assume a lot of Europe, think that Greeks just don't pay their taxes and don't understand what the hell impact the artificially low interests had on Greek borrowing and how austerity measures are bullshit or how Greece's economy and resources are just sitting open to Germany as a result of them and this set up. We definitely get a lot of pro-banking, pro-open market propaganda and people like my boyfriend eat it up.
